The village of New Bremen, Ohio was founded in 1833. The German immigrants who settled her named the town after Bremen, a German city. This small Midwestern town is quiet and peaceful, enjoys lovely seasonal weather and is adjacent to many charming villages as well as near to the larger city of Dayton. With a population of just under 3,000 people, the residents are friendly and the community is alive with spirit and joy. It’s a nice place to live, work and play.
This tiny village is home to the Bicycle Museum of America. It is one of the largest collections of bicycles in the world and features a wide array of bikes and memorabilia for any history and bike enthusiast to enjoy and explore. This well-known collection was formerly located Chicago but was moved to New Bremen by a wealthy local resident. It is expected to become a tourist attraction that is on the bucket list of every bicycle enthusiast out there. This is the perfect activity for a family on a cold, winter day. Inside of the heated warmth of the museum you will see a wide variety of antique bicycles, classics of the 1940s and 1950s and more!
If you are looking for something fun to do in the warmer months then get outdoors at one the wonderful nearby State Parks also like Lake Loramie), Kiser Lake, Indian Lake, or Grand Lake St Mary’s. You can also check out Botkinsville where you will find a lovely community park as well as an impressive community pool. For such a small town, the pool is quite elaborate with multiple diving boards, slides and a wading pool. Park facilities in Tipp City include tennis courts and basketball courts, athletic fields, picnic shelters, playground equipment, a swimming pool, nature trails, a driving range, batting cages, a community canoe livery and boat ramp on the river. There is literally everything that you can imagine!
