About Troy, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Troy is a small town in Ohio with a lot more history and character than one might expect. With about 25,000 residents, it is the perfect suburb. Neither too big nor too small, it is an ideal place to raise kids. This lovely community is filled with sunshine and warm breezes in the spring and summer. But, wait! The warm seasons give way to the lovely fallen leaves of autumn and, just like that, winter rolls in and the town is covered in stunning white snow. Kids are running through sprinklers in July and wearing parkas in January. Such is the mysterious magic of seasonal weather.
The city is not without history. This charming town was the location of the Hobart Welded Steel House Company. They were one of the first companies to build pre-fabricated homes. However, the idea did not catch on until decades after they first tried out the notion The Hobart firm manufactured 22 homes in their Troy location. 16 of those homes still stand and they are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. From outside, they may look like typical “tract homes” but their walls have a more complex story to tell. There is also Overfield Tavern, one of Ohio's oldest taverns, located in Troy. The only downside is that you can’t get a beer anymore. It is now a museum and would be a great place to get shelter from the cold and soak up some heat while learning about local history.
Not so interested in history but passionate about nature? For the outdoor enthusiast looking to enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking and more, there is also a great deal to do in this part of Ohio. Nearby State Parks include: Lake Loramie, Kiser Lake, Indian Lake, and Grand Lake St Mary’s. But, don’t worry! There is so much fun to be had in any season. The warm summer months are perfect for swimming or fishing while the cool fall winds make for ideal hiking weather.
